Boston upstart Latrell James brings his new project Twelve to share with FDF. Chronicling his life from ages 12-14 the album shows the journey from adolosence to becoming a man. What comes of that journey, at least on this project, is a wisdom in his lyricism that is beyond measure.
Sometimes it can take a lifetime of trials and tribulations for a person realize their true aspirations. For me, the maturation of my artistic journey can be experienced in a span of twelve years.
Latrell produces the majority of the collection alongside his brother Tedd Boyd. With well-received releases like 99 Altima and The Button bringing attention his way the album acts as a way to get an honest look into his upbringing. Stream below.
