LBC is very much a strong part of this resurgence of the West Coast. One component of that is definitely Joey Chang. The young upstart has been opening eyes with the summer singles This Way (Which made the final tracklist as well) and The Best High. The lyricist has a good meaning behind the title as well. In his own words:
I finally released my newest body of work “Since 09” this project took me nearly 3 years to finish but there were some things I had to witness. Rap isn’t my life, its my passion. I’ve been in school and working since 09, trying to pave a way. I have only the deepest respect for my fam that puts there 100% into these waves. This isn’t my story. This is OUR story. Nobody in my circle has it smooth and I definitely can’t say I have it the hardest but I know one day our hard work is gonna pay off. this isn’t my story, this is our story.
