SilaS – Gullah Gullah Island (Video)

Already amassing a cool 22 million plays virally on the internet, SilaS debuts the official visual for Gulla Gulla Island.  The Jackson, MS native takes inspiration from the Nickoledoen show of the same name but makes it his own.  The way he flips it, poetically painting a picture that exposes the harsh realities faced due to police brutality is admirable.

To match the strength of the single is an equally chilling video which begins with the cops shooting an unarmed man. The imagery is displayed throughout but also manages to let hope transcend when SilaS is filmed dancing with children in scenes. It all creates for an awesome balance and a piece of work that leaves you wanting more. Check out the video above and his complete project The Day I Died below.
