Starkville, MS native Quez CoDean is back with a new mixtape “5 Years Later”. Indicative by the title, this is the first appearance from Quez officially in a half decade. He comes back a more knowledgeable artist, having grown as a man, and it shows in his music. Having already released singles like Body, Pain In My Eyes, and the regional smash Connected, the full tape shows Quez releasing the journey of his past over a 14-track landscape.
This tape is filled with wisdom and messages to learn from the perspective of someone who truly understand the streets and the struggles that come with them. Quez has battled back from being homeless in one of his regions roughest areas, the Westside of Starkville, to becoming a father and returning to the rap game. If that doesn’t qualify as someone who can teach us all a lesson I don’t know what does.
Features on “5 Years Later” come from SplurgeMan Rico, RaRa, Piff, SplurgeMan T-Low, Wally Bo & Ikita with production from JMark, OG LOGAN & Christopher Al TRAKKENSTEIN. Camden Da Bastard brings the vision to life with the artwork and the visuals for the project. Hosting the mixtape is DJ LAKEGANG, with additional promotion from 1stDayFresh and The Gold Zone.
