As we all know, the XXL Freshman class is one of the most debatable topics in the music industry once a year. The 2016 XXL Freshman list consist of Desiigner, Denzel Curry, Lil Yatchy, G Herbo, Kodak Black, Anderson .Paak, Lil Dicky, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage and Dave East, known as “The New Wave”.
Before finalizing the Freshman class, 5 New Jersey rappers were nominated for that same list. Monty, Tsu Surf, Dougie F, Retchy P and Da$h. Unfortunately, none of them made the list and New Jersey was left off the Freshman list for 2016.
Independent rap collective, Legal Dollars is looking to change that for the year 2017.
