Since the release of her debut single, ‘BOLD’, late last year, rising Canadian rapper Charmaine has gone from strength to strength, gaining recognition from Spotify Editorial, Soundcloud, Apple Music and a whole host of top-tier music publications and tastemakers who are all banking on her success.
With no plans on stopping any time soon, Charmaine returns to unveil her third music video to date, ‘Double Dutch’ taken from her critically acclaimed, Hood Avante-Garde EP. Directed by Spencer Edwards, the music video captures Charmaine and her crew as they dance, pose, rap and dress their way through a vibrant and playful music video, inspired by Missy Elliott and Marie Antoinette.
An unusual pairing of cultural references, the ‘Double Dutch’ visual sees Charmaine play on the ‘modern-day renaissance woman’ she first introduced to us in ‘BOLD’ in a fun and conceptual manner. Known for her unapologetic attitude, sky-high confidence and undeniable talent, Charmaine embodies future rap royalty from head to toe and this music video proves that she’s got the looks as well as the goods.
