Earlier this month Kato revealed he and B.o.B would be teaming up with events and contest platform Audius for an exclusive worldwide contest designed to connect them with an enterprising indie artist for the collaborative opportunity of a lifetime.
Dubbed the Over Night Success Story “ONSS” challenge, the contest is designed to entice artists from all corners of social media to take a chance at crafting their own viral hit over one of Kato’s masterful productions. The fateful winner of the contest will get the opportunity to travel, all expenses paid, to Atlanta to collaborate with Kato and B.o.B, create content and more.
“I have been doing contests like this for a long long time and Bob and I go way back. This was always in the making and now with partners in Audius, I wanted to prioritize giving my community more opportunities this year,” Kato said.
To compete, artists simply need to create an account on Audius, purchase any ONSS instrumental from Kato and create and upload the track to their account. Once the track is uploaded, toggle the “identify as a remix” option and add the link from the original instrumental from Kato’s page and get to promoting! Everyone is encouraged to tag @KatoProducer and @bob and @audius.
However, considering you only have until February 4 to submit an entry, chances are many artists are going to miss the boat. Never sweat, though, as Kato planned in advance for this moment—given the fact he’s released over 65 open verse challenges thus far and was even named the fourth most dueted artist on TikTok in 2021.
“This is only the first of many. There will be opportunities like this every 4 to 6 weeks that me and my team has planned in advance from last year. There are some really talented people out there and I have been fortunate to be a part of the early stages of their careers. Jarren Benton, Jack Harlow, Joyner Lucas, Ktlyn, and Reyanna Maria. It’s kind of what I am known for. Can’t wait to dig up more amazing talent and help put fans onto them,” Kato said.
