Phlow releases mini EP chronicling failed love”Asuai”

We’ve been fans of Phlow since we heard her for the first time and that continues now with her latest release “Asuai”. Being touted as a “Mini EP”, Phlow makes the most of a 5 minute landscape breaking it down 4 tracks combined into one. She uses the palette to paint a story of a young girl falling in and out of love.

Helping to bring the story to life is production exclusively from Swedish producer, Ryko. ‘Asuai means “My Year” in Ukwani, a dialect spoken by the Delta Igbos in Eastern Nigeria—is notable for its rich, diverse instrumentals. Phlow and Ryko apparently connected via Soundcloud and began laying the groundwork for this project, which boasts beats from the producer’s ‘feng/shui tape. They take on a new life here, though, especially the dusty and ‘80s-reminiscent beat on “The Exit.” ‘Asuai’ is now available for stream, courtesy of Str8Buttah Productions.
