Hip Hop newcomer Chhina releases his debut mixtape “Shade” with a Bang! The young Canadian rapper and producer shows off his new beats and contemporary spin to the hip hop genre. His mixtape has a fresh vibe with a nice mix of lyrics and upbeat tempo, and some classical Hip Hop elements.
“Shade” includes 16 tracks, including some skits and the much-loved single “ What It Is” (Track 3) The mixtape is a collection of Chhina’s life stories told through lyrics. We hear about how he started off in a basement, about how people didn’t believe he could make it as a rapper, and about how he got inspired from Kanye, and how life is- without any filters. In the last track he said he had one more story, but not through words, but sound.
Sound: that’s how the artist started out. The young Chhina kicked-off with simple beats, but because he had so much to say and so much to prove, he soon taught himself the entire hip hop textbook. By studying the best rappers: Kanye West, Drake, Kenrick Lamar and Travis Scott, working hard and mastering the producing elements, he was able to create a brand of himself.
His tracks are accompanied with computerized beats and strong piano/ violin leads, all adding to the production value and musicality of each of his pieces. Listening to the music you really get trapped into the beats and catch yourself following the lyrics. The amount of work and thought is truly distinguishable, as the music flows remarkably in your ears.
Chhina’s confident that this mixtape is not like anything you’ve heard before, and he’s ready to make an outbreak in Hip Hop.
