Premiere: Yung Illie aims for rap’s title belt on “Mike Tyson”

There is a long history of rap and it’s affinity for boxing culture. In many ways the two sports relate, with fierce competition a staple on both sides. Often times we find when a rapper has his back against the wall they can look into themselves to come up with the best art they have ever made.

Yung Illie is an artist who has felt slighted by many of his peers throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Though the effort is apparent through his music and No Free Art brand, Illie doesn’t agree that he gets the deserved recognition he should. “Mike Tyson” acts as his way to get this off of his chest and spit rhymes that back up his claims. Stream the Lamrini-produced single below and look for more to come from Illie in the future.
