“Top Down” was written to be a celebration for all the overcomers. It’s me giving myself flowers while I’m alive to enjoy them. Generally speaking, I don’t do a lot of bragging. I grew up in a single-parent home on the rough side of town in Wichita Kansas. I had two children while in high school and I was also incarcerated for two years as a juvenile. After being released as a teen I enrolled and graduated from Wichita State University. I also wrote a book, hosted a radio, a TV show, released 3 albums, and traveled the world.” – Iz316
At the beginning of this, Iz316 was invited back to the facility he was incarcerated in to give a commencement speech. That moment, coupled with the current state of the world prompted him to create a positive single for encouragement.
Iz316’s latest single “Top Down” is currently available on all streaming platforms with over 180,000 streams and nearly 50,000 views on YouTube.
