Not that long back, we turned your eyes and ears onto the glossy R&B sounds of Adria Kain when she dropped new single ‘Classic’. That one represented a return to new music and that theme continues with her new track ‘Ocean (Reprise)’. Long term listeners might clock that Kain already shared a track by the name of ‘Ocean’, but considering that was 6 years ago, the Toronto artist has decided to give this fan favourite a makeover. Like a rom-com montage, the Reprise after reveal is stunning. Hazy yet confident, this transformation shows just how far Adria Kain has come.
Speaking about why ‘Ocean (Reprise)’ is so important, the artist says: “It’s beyond me how this song came full circle. I remember where I was in life when I first wrote it years ago. I knew it was a good song, not quite my favourite, but it had an important message that I think even went over my own head. I wrote it from a place of sadness. I wanted to create a voice for myself. One that I could run to whenever there was no one else. One that would create a platform big enough for me to exist in without boundaries, like the Ocean, because what’s bigger than that really.”
We also have a new music video, directed by Ashley Iris Gill, which is all about a sweet love affair. A perfect pairing for Kain’s dreamy R&B single.
