Neo-soul meets pop singer Miranda Joan has enlisted the help of acclaimed artist CARRTOONS to create a pop Jazz soul bop. The song is aptly called “Bada Bing!” and it is the latest off of Miranda Joan’s upcoming full length which is set to be released this winter.
“Bada Bing!” envelops the listener with every note. With hints of R&B, soul, Jazz, pop and even funk, the duo craft an upbeat musical good time that is free of genre constraints. Miranda confides on the meaning of the release, “I’m half Italian (Joan is my middle name) and I grew up with the Sopranos on in the background as a kid until I aged into the right of passage that was actually watching the series myself. The Bing is the strip club in the TV series and serves as a headquarters for the Jersey ‘family’ under mob boss Tony Soprano. I wanted to take a small piece of that into the music and ended up writing a playful, flirty song about that moment when you meet someone and there are instant fireworks. This song leans into the Italian side of my upbringing.” The music video is directed by Gigi Nettles and is a scene by scene take on The Sopranos making for a fun and interesting accompaniment to the song.
Miranda Joan and CARRTOONS have collaborated on other songs off of Miranda’s upcoming album, with “Bada Bing!” being just another example of how creative their musical partnership is. Enjoy the sweet sounds now!
