Brooklyn-bred songstress Chelley took the music scene by storm with her hit single “Took the Night” back in 2009 and now returns to the dance realm with her next killer release “Love Sick.”
Out now in Ultra Music, “Love Sick” is the first single off her forthcoming EP to be released under the same name. “Love SIck” is the perfect fusion of reggae-island pop, with Chelley’s cool silky vocals, expressing her yearning for love, and top-notch production by international beatmaker Ricky Blaze. With sun-drenched weather in the air, “Love Sick” will deliver a caribbean feel and all the proper island vibes to every dance floor this summer.
Michelle Woolery, known to the clubs as “Chelley”, has created one of the most influential records of all time. Her hit single “Took The Night” has sparked clubs and females across the nation. With a heart wrenching bass line and 707 drums Chelley delivers a message to all females inspiring them to not care “what bi@#hes say” but for this Brooklyn Pop Star its about what the music says. Born to Jamaican parents, Chelley grew up in the east New York section of Brooklyn, helping her single parent mother with her all-girl household. After graduating High School she began studying for a degree in child psychology, she took a part time job and worked hard shifts, but her passion was music and when she met Brooklyn artist and producer Ricky Blaze, her life took a turn. Ricky and Chelley went into the studio and with in a month created 8 solid records ready for plays, but the one that stood out most of all due to its unique catchy sound was “Took The Night” gaining radio play and a record deal with electronic dance label Ultra Records. The record has also become a favorite to celebrities like Missy Elliott, Eve and Snooki. The record also became a craze to the LGBT community allowing Chelley to be a main attraction in the 2009 Out Music Awards, along with many pride parade /events in various cities like San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami. Chelley is preparing her new single “Love Sick” being released July 2017.Love Sick is a reggae-island pop fusion song where Chelley’s cool silky vocals expresses her feelings for love. Both “Love Sick” and “Hella Yella” will be featured on her new EP dropping later this year, which features international Brooklyn Producer Ricky Blaze and production from Worldwide DJ/ Producer Diplo (Major Lazer).
