DJ QuinnRaynor recruits Grammy nominated Kia Shine and the soulful Ali Da G for “My City”

Coming straight outta Memphis, TN, the home of the blues, DJ/producer DJ QuinnRaynor has stamped himself as a premiere DJ in the Mid-South music scene. Known for his knack to find the hottest content out of Memphis, DJ QuinnRaynor has consistently introduced the world to talent bred in his hometown and surrounding areas. As a tour DJ, Raynor has worked with Snootie Wild, Money Man, and Finese 2Tymes.

“My City” is DJ QuinnRaynor’s first release. Featuring Grammy nominated Memphian Kia Shine and the soulful Ali Da G, “My City” is DJ QuinnRaynor’s attempt to show the world what’s truly going on in cities like Memphis.

“Snap initially made the beat for Finese 2Tymes” says DJ QuinnRaynor. “Just to be real, it was a situation that went down in Jackson, MS with this club owner down there…” Raynor continues. “Long story short, Finese didn’t show up for a show and the club owner tried to kidnap me. The whole situation was crazy!” explains Raynor.

After learning of the attempted kidnapping incident, Ali Da G, a close business partner of DJ QuinnRaynor, felt compelled to get DJ QuinnRaynor to shift his career in a different direction. “I felt that Quinn should tell his story and create change by releasing a song based on the reality of Memphis” says Ali Da G. Ali Da G then penned “My City” and producer Snap Da Truph reached out to Memphis rap legend Kia Shine.
