Get To Know Rising Pittsburgh Artist: Guttah

What is your name and what city do you rep?
My name is Guttah I’m from wilkinsburg located in the city of Pittsburgh.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest release is God’s Don’t Die it’s a project I’ve been working on for a few months it drops on the 10th.

What is unique about you and your music?

I just wanted to make a solid body of work, what is unique about me is that I just came home from doing 15 years straight and I’m not giving up on my aspirations.

What shaped your music? 

Real life experiences shaped my music mainly the street life.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally? 

When I was a kid and I use to listen to 2pac and The Notorious BIG I knew it was something I wanted to do so around 11 12 years old.

What type of music do you listen to? 

I listen to soulful music and music with a message but I give everything a chance.

What inspires you to write music? 

Life inspires me to make music every day I wake up.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about? 

Take care of my daughter work on getting my other business ventures off the ground.

Happiness to you is… 

Happiness to me is being alive and free and being able to live life on your own terms.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out? 

You have to invest in yourself and don’t try to use somebody else’s blueprint because what worked for them.
