L.A. based female-fronted rock band Livingmore has released their new single “Sharp,” off their upcoming sophomore full-length album Take Me, due out May 21st via Nomad Eel Records, and we can’t stop listening! “Sharp” is an upbeat and fun tune that celebrates life and self-expression. Lead singer Alex Moore describes the song as, “a celebration of standing your ground and embracing your personality.” The single was inspired by the idea of how our different energies mix with the wardrobe we wear allowing us to feel comfortable expressing ourselves.
Along with the single, the band dropped the official music video, which is as freeing as the song. We see Moore coming out of a car’s sunroof, with hair blowing in the wind, as she sings out. The video was directed by Alex’s brother Dillon Moore, who was inspired by the memories of their mom honking the horn while driving under a tunnel as they screamed out into the abyss. Moore says, “He wanted to capture that free feeling in the video, which was perfect because writing the song definitely felt freeing for me.” Makes us want to take a road trip, for sure!

The new single and video serve as a great introduction for the band’s upcoming album, Take Me. “It’s a dance-your-problems away album,” describes Alex. “Even though we all go through bummers, we can still jump around, rock out, have a good time, and not take life too seriously.” Guitarist Spencer Livingston adds, “It’s happy-sad music. We really combined the spectrum of our influences to make you move.”
Livingmore came to be in 2014 when Moore and Livingston started collaborating while bonding over similar influences such as Garbage, The Hives, Roy Orbison, Modest Mouse, Wilco, Radiohead, The Cure, The Smiths, and more. Soon, Mike Schadel [drums] and Rodrigo Moreno [bass] joined as the band gained traction and released their self-titled EP in 2015. Along the way, the four-piece played packed shows and SXSW and finally released their debut full-length album OK To Land in 2018. Since their debut, Livingmore has independently amassed over 2 million total streams along with media support from the likes of Interview Magazine, Nylon, Paste, Music Connection, PopCrush, Clash, Buzzbands, Earmilk and more. With Take Me, the members of Livingmore are opening up like never before, inviting all to join on the rollercoaster ride and its non-conformist path. We can’t wait to hear more and jump on board!
