Canada’s BABA NO BABY brings the drill sound on “Mixed Emotions” project

The 18-year old Arab-Canadian Trap/Drill artist has been stuck in Riyadh since October due to COVID border closures; but that hasn’t stopped him from making music. BABA NO BABY (formerly known as Yung Jalap) also brings elements of old school boom-bap influences into the mix which are proudly showcased in his new record “MIXED EMOTIONS” which is out today. Growing up in Sydney, Nova Scotia, he strives to incorporate his Saudi Arabian culture into his music and inspire other young Arabic artists.

Ahmed has been recording music since he was 14 and was fuelled by some early success on Soundcloud. In January 2020 he released his first single on major streaming platforms, “The 80’s” (released under Yung Jalap) put him on the map of Canada’s East Coast Scene.
