What’s a boss in your eyes? Someone who simply gives orders or someone who leads by example? For Breadwinner Kane it comes to leading by example. Beginning his musical journey behinds the scenes, he watched the actions of the artists he would work with before stepping out on his own.

Today we find BWA Kane as a solo artist who makes his presence felt throughout the industry. His latest single “Shooters” sees him collab with southern rap legend Boosie Badazz. It adds to a long line of popping singles like “Bodies” featuring Fredo Bang and others.

We reached out to Breadwinner Kane to learn more about how he operates, what inspired him and what’s coming up next. Check out the full Q&A below:

We have Breadwinner Kane with us today, how have things been for you?

All is well with me.

For those new to you tell us a bit about yourself?

I am Breadwinnerkane. I’m from Alabama but linked in with my family from Louisiana, Kevin Gates and Zaytoven from Atlanta. I then started pushing my brand heavy as an artist.

When would you say you decided rapping was something you wanted to pursue?

A couple years back I was pushing other artists. They often never showed up in time, sometimes they never showed up at all. I said let me show them how it’s done.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard it?

I would say it’s something you could smoke to or work out to. Real G-shit.

What do you think is the biggest lesson you’ve learned about the music industry since you’ve come along?

To stay in your own lane. It’s easy to get yourself in a situation in the industry or entertainment world.

What do you like most about creating music?

I like to express myself. It’s like a stress reliever at times to work out your brain.

You’ve recently dropped your “Shooters” visual featuring Boosie Badazz. How did that collaboration come together?

I’ve been knowing Boosie for years so it was just about reaching out to his team. He also signed D Rodgers from Bama, that’s my relative.

How has the response to the track been?

The track is smoking hot. It’s playing on like 4 stations in Alabama, Little Rock, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee right now.

What is the achievement you’re most proud of in life and why?

To have my own business, wake up to making money and paying my employees. It feels good to be a boss.

If you could re-live any moment which moment would it be?

I’m re-living every moment now just looking out for family and staying focused on what I came to do get paid.

What else do you have on the way that people should be on the lookout for?

I have a new single and video dropping called “Smoke”. It features Honeykomb Brazy and it’s produced by Zaytoven.

What’s your biggest goal for the remainder of 2021?

To finish up the tours my team put together, the “We Outside” tour and the Carolina tour. Salute Gorgeous, Dave and Rich for that.

Any last words before we conclude?

I want to thank you all for having me and let everyone know to follow me on Instagram at @Kanebwa and on Twitter at @Bwakane. 100it.
