BLK haven’t missed a beat. From their introductory ‘Got It’ to sizzler ‘FWM’, the Canadian trio have set and kept the bar high and all you have to do is go check out their Spotify streams to understand just how much of an impact this new girl group is making. Reminding us of TLC or Destiny’s Child’s early days, Bexk, Lilac X and Khatalia Korahjay take full charge of their youthful confidence, unabashed sexuality and fierce individuality in new single and music video ‘Girls’, which is produced by Pops (Drake, Machine Gun Kelly) and Lowner.
As the trio each set out, ‘Girls’ means an awful lot to the group:
“The song is empowering, and it gives me a sense of community. We’ve all been there dealing with an ex, and this song lets girls know that the grass is always greener on the other side.” – Bexk
“You stand in your way. You had a chance, should’ve done better. My verse embodies you blocking your blessings within a relationship.” – Lilac X
“Sometimes food expires, sometimes men expire..either way, you have to throw the trash out. & that’s on ‘Girls’.” – Khatalia Korahjay
The greyscale music video is ultra sexy and stylish with the BLK girls commanding the screen as they sing “lost yourself a bad b*tch, lost yourself a marriage, lost yourself a Queen.”
‘Girls’ is lifted straight from BLK’s debut EP, Girl Magic, which you can stream right here.
