His professional career began with him playing music on the street in the French Quarter as a teenager, which has led him to travel the world today performing at various venues and music festivals, and even for President Obama. His original music draws on the influences of some of the most recognized musicians to emerge from New Orleans, as well as some his musical inspirations like Prince, Pharrell Williams, Stevie Wonder, and more. Shamarr’s creative blending of genres rooted in feel-good music is most evident in his new single “Dance With Me,” available now on all major music streaming platforms. Listen HERE. The uplifting vibe of “Dance With Me” is sure to inspire all to come together, after the hardships of the past few years, to dance and be without fear. The lyrics, “Let’s have a good time, I want you to live life,” project his aura of this cheerful song. This tribute to his community features all types of different people dancing, from those in vibrant Mardi Gras costumes to bartenders and families immersing themselves in the feeling of universal joy that the song radiates.
