Mykko Montana Returns With Punchy New Single “Brian Pumper”

Mykko Montana, a name etched in Atlanta’s music DNA since 2012, is proving he’s still a vital voice with his latest release, “Brian Pumper.”

Known for his high-energy bars and effortless swagger, Mykko first broke through with his infectious hit “Do It” featuring K Camp—an anthem that helped define a moment in the city’s party rap era. Over a decade later, Mykko remains both grounded and adventurous, building on a journey that’s seen him collaborate with the likes of Young Thug and Gunna, and deliver standout projects like Rich Chocolate (2018), No Stylist (2021), and the buzz-heavy Double M (2024). With more than 118,000 monthly Spotify listeners, the Southside native is enjoying a resurgence, staying tapped into the energy of his roots while innovating his sound for a new generation.

“I really rap about my life in 3 party in my everyday living,” Mykko says of his newest track. “I love what I rap about and I put it in my art of music. It took me under 45 minutes to record this record—no writing!”

That off-the-cuff energy is palpable in “Brian Pumper” a song that balances humor, charisma and bounce.

He delivers his favorite line—“Send my girl to Rumors so she can shake haass and titties yeahhhhh”—with a grin in his voice. “It’s just… true story lol,” he laughs.

When it comes to “Brian Pumper” the track marks a fresh creative chapter for Mykko, who views the track as emblematic of his evolving artistic process. “It means a lot because it’s part of my new craft of how I create music,” he shares. He says the experience of creating the record was completely enjoyable. “I actually enjoyed creating this record,” he adds.

While many artists lean into current trends or look to peers for influence, Mykko is more focused on internal inspiration. “It was fun, catchy, and actually exciting to see me create and come up with these unique titles,” he explains. When asked about specific inspirations, he simply nods to a friend: “Not at all, but shout out to my dawg Alex Huncho.”

Though the production came together with minimal overthinking, Mykko’s bond with his producer was key. “He’s from overseas. I work hand to hand with him,” he says. “Great producer, he knows how to create my sound.”

With Brian Pumper, Mykko is just getting started. “I plan to continue to release more heat,” he promises, hinting at more genre-bending, high-energy music on the horizon as 2024 unfolds.

Beyond music, Mykko is building a brand that reflects his multifaceted identity. “All glory be to God. Fly or Crash—shout out to my team,” he says. “I offer a lot past music. I’m a renaissance man. It’s all independent, got a tight team I work close with, I’m thankful for them all.”
