Emerging alt-rock/hop-hop hybrid Katastro has released their new single “The Way I Feel,” the opening track on their upcoming full-length album Sucker, due out July 16th via Controlled Substance Sound Labs. “The Way I Feel” is a buoyant ode to getting over a toxic relationship and moving into a new stage of life. Vocalist Andy Chaves shares, “’The Way I Feel’ is probably the most personal song for me on the album.” Writing the single helped Chaves to see the light at the end of tunnel while in the midst of a breakup and he hopes that it will help others experiencing similar situations. With a light-hearted beat and intoxicating chorus, we believe it does just that! “The Way I Feel” is poised to be a summer anthem!

In addition to the new single, Sucker will include previously released tracks “100 Rips” and “Way Too High.” These singles represent the noticeably more mature sound to be expected on the quartet’s forthcoming sixth full-length album. Developed during unexpected time off in 2020, the band’s fully collaborative creative approach was given limitless possibilities. “We want to make art that makes people feel good. Art that helps people,” drummer Andrew Stravers shares. “I would love to hear our fans say our music helped them get through trauma. That our music helped them get to the next chapter in life. What’s better than that?” These artists are aiming to inspire the masses to work through the hardships in life with electrifying tunes and inspiring lyrics.
The four-piece, Phoenix-based band released their first EP, The Wonderful Daze, in 2008 and quickly followed with their debut full-length album, Poking Holes In A Pattern, the following year, citing early influences from Eminem and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Since their origin, the group has had a steady stream of releases and an evolution in sound. Katastro’s youthful party nature started to dim as personal growth and change crept into their songwriting. Along the way, Katastro has amassed tens of millions of streams from fans worldwide as well as media support from Alternative Press, The Noise, Substream Magazine, Phoenix New Times and more. The group has also been making an impact as a powerful live act, headlining national tours and supporting accomplished artists such as Dirty Heads, Sublime With Rome, Iration, 311, Pepper, The Expendables and gracing festival stages such as the One Love Cali Reggae Fest and Reggae Rise Up Festival. There is no doubt that Katastro will continue to influence the industry and we cannot wait to see what they have for us next!
