JIMKATA Take Us To The Future In “Writing on the Wall”

Ithaca based JIMKATA are known for their infectious fusion of synth rock, electronic and indie pop. Their latest single and accompanying visuals “Writing on the Wall” the song was inspired by lead singer’s Evan Friedell’s personal experiences with loss and having a difficult time finding direction and purpose. He confides, “…this song is a pressure release valve for all those dark moments you have, and I’m sure we’ve all had a few in the past year of turbulence.”

The fascinating visuals follow a gold human like statue and his existence in a dystopian type world. The visuals are haunting, enthralling and introspective. While the single features a funk-fueled sonic groove, synth-dipped rock soundscapes and moody vocals. “Writing on the Wall” is off of their upcoming full length Bonfires set for release next month.
