Los Angeles based MOTHICA is known for her expressive honesty and hauntingly beautiful sonic musical releases. Her latest, which is her third album, is called KISSING DEATH and it goes deeper into the artist’s origin story.
KISSING DEATH is composed of 12 tracks with each song being unique in its own right. There is the mood-rich “Doomed” about childhood hopelessness and having the gifted child syndrome as well as “Red”, a rock single all about self destruction. “The Reaper” is influenced by movie soundtracks and thrills with its own blend of synthpop and electronica. While “Aftermath” “is for the younger version of me who romanticized death for a decade, and the lasting impact it had on me as I searched for an easier, softer way to exist,” shares the artist.
Throughout the album, MOTHICA weaves catchy hooks with striking synths and vivid guitars. The lyrics are often honest and poetic, painting pictures of internal battles and triumphs. KISSING DEATH offers a compelling and rewarding listening experience that highlights MOTHICA’s unique voice and artistic vision.
